NEW BLACK BELTS

Rine Karate Studio is proud to have five new black belts and a 2nd degree black belt.   Mark & Jennifer Bartlett, Corey Upright, and Hazel & Alexis Virtue were promoted to 1st degree black belt in the art of Chun Kuk Do, and John Frankovitch was promoted to 2nd degree black belt.   The black belt test was held in Beckley, West Virginia, for 30 martial arts students who tested for ranks ranging from 1st to 4th degree black.

In order to obtain a black belt in Chun Kuk Do, students must demonstrate their skills before a regional board of United Fighting Arts Federation black belts who hold the rank of 4th degree and higher.   Region 6, the local region, consists of black belts and schools from West Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky, Maryland, and Virginia. .

Since opening in 1983, Rine Karate Studio has had a 100% black belt passing rate and has produced 58 black belts, and an additional 16 degrees of black belt.
